We’re gonna be okay.

So losing four straight isn’t fun. It’s frustrating. It’s ugly. It’s heartbreaking. Basically, it doesn’t feel good. Losing the Wild Card spot is also uncool. I’m running out of synonyms to describe just how demoralizing this loss felt for some reason.
It’s difficult to not reiterate what people on social media/Twitter have been saying without sounding redundant, but oh well.
This is a team that has had a lot of success this year and, ultimately, a lot of failure. After a loss like tonight’s it’s easy to forget that - hey! The Mariners have won more games than they’ve lost this year! AND it’s almost August. AND this is after they’ve just lost four in a row.
Yeah, we need a bat. Or bats. Multiple bats would be nice. The trade deadline is coming up, so hopefully Jack Z will come through.
We’re gonna be ok. We’ve got a Cy Young front runner having the best season of his career, a homegrown All-Star third baseman, a not-home-grown-but-still-just-as-loved All-Star second baseman, the best bullpen in the ENTIRE American League, and a team that has shown so much fire and passion these past four months that it’s ignited with the fans and the city of Seattle, forcing many to turn away from their Super Bowl memorabilia and instead focus on the first contending Mariners team in years.
This team wants to win just as much as we want them to win. So don’t give up faith before they’ve shown us what they’re capable of.

The Mariners prevail in a twelve inning battle with the Angels, beating them 3-2 thanks to RBI singles by Lomo and Smoak, as well as great pitching by both Felix and the bullpen!

The M’s secure the series win and go for the sweep tomorrow with a 6-2 win over the A’s! Kuma is absolutely dominant as he comes 1 out away from a complete game shutout while Seager and Cano both homer!
